Working Group established by the order of Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan has conducted field studies in Ararat and Armavir regions of Armenia that aimed to reveal and give solutions to the problems related to the inefficientuse of water resources and illegal operation of deep wells. In a case of necessity of the practical steps the appropriate measures have been taken during the investigations.
In particular, on July 29 the liquidation works of an illegal deep well with 80 l/s capacity was launched in Noramarg community of Ararat Region. Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan personally followed the liquidation works on the spot.
The above mentioned works have continued during the last week. As a result of carried out activities the restriction measures of used water resources are taken at “Karapet Badalyan” PE and “Marine Badalyan” PE, 2 fish farms operating in the territory of Hovtashat community, Ararat region saving 160 l/s and 103 l/s artesianwater.
Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Khachik Hakobyan informed that as a result of carried out activities of the working group about 340 l/s water was saved in the last 10 days, which is approximately 10.7 million cub/m water annually.
Before that 45 deep wells have been liquidated and conserved in Ararat and Armavir regions with the funds of the Armenian Government with total capacity of 310 l/s, while 47 deep wells were liquidated and conserved with the funds of the business entities with a total capacity of 920 l/s.
