An International Conference on “Utilizing Stream Waters in the Suppression of Forest Fires with the Help of New Technologies” will be held in the conference hall of the Institute of Botany NAS RA

This year on June 18 at 10.00 a.m. an international conference under the title of “Utilizing Stream Waters in the Suppression of Forest Fires with the Help of New Technologies” will be held in the conference hall of the Institute of Botany NAS RA /Botanical Garden of Yerevan, Avan administrative district/. The specialized scientists in this field of the countries of the region /including Turkey/ will attend the conference. Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan, representatives from Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia and NAS RA will attend the official part of the event. 

The program was launched since April 1, 2013. The total duration of the project will be 24 months.

The program is funded by the European Neighborhood & Partnership Instrument (ENPI) of the EU “The Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2007-2013” framework.

The lead partner is Kavala Institute of Technology from Greece. Additionally there are five more partners from the Black Sea Region. Specifically, Artvin Coruh University from Turkey, Braila Prefecture from Romania, Eco-TIRAS International Association of River Keepers from Republic of Moldova, The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NULES of Ukraine) and Zikatar Environmental Center from Armenia.

The Kick-off Meeting was held in Braila, Romania on April 18-19, 2013 with the participation of all partners.
