The RA Ministry of Nature Protection will budget 7.6 million AMD for “Registration of fish and crayfish reserves in Lake Sevan and its water saving basins”

Today the Minister of Nature Protection, Aramayis Grigoryan submitted: “Making amendments to the RA N 1515-N decree (2014) and budgeting the RA Ministry of Nature Protection” the GoA decree project to the GoA adoption. Accordingly, the GoA budgets 7.6 million AMD for the RA Ministry of Nature Protection to implement “Registration of fish and crayfish reserves in Lake Sevan and its water saving basins” project. The latter is envisaged under the 1st and 2nd points of plan of actions approved by N1755-N decree on “Approving the project about regenerating endemic fish in Lake Sevan” on December 9, 2010 the GoA.

The Minister of Nature Protection stated: “Fish and crayfish reserve monitoring is necessary to ensure regeneration of endemic fish in the water saving basin in Lake Sevan. It will be possible to develop activities to restore and conserve ecological balance and usage of fish and crayfish reserves on the bases of the research about the details on population of fish and crayfish in Lake Sevan.”

The decree project was approved by the GoA and will enter into force the day after its official publication.
