Aramayis Grigoryan had a meeting with the Federal Minister of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety of the Federal Republic of Germany and participated in the parliamentary event dedicated to Armenia

The delegation headed by RA Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan is on a working visit in the Federal Republic of Germany. Within the scope of the visit, Mr. Grigoryan had a meeting with Federal Environment Minister Dr. Barbara Hendricks and representatives of the Ministry.

Minister Aramayis Grigoryan thanking for the warm reception and appreciating the collaboration of the two countries in environment sphere hoped that the meeting would be the launch for new programs.

The parties discussed the further cooperation and perspectives, particularly reflecting upon introduction of automatic centralized management system of Ararat valley water utilization and perspectives of activities undertaken to mitigate climate change.

At the end of the meeting Minister Hendricks expressed willingness to support Armenia within the discussed projects. The parties made an arrangement to actively involve the departments in the cooperation and transfer to a new level.

Within the framework of the visit, the RA Minister of Nature Protection took part in the parliamentary event dedicated to Armenia. The Federal Republic of Germany, the Bundestag (the parliament of Germany), relevant departments, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Republic of Germany and NGOs.

Minister Aramayis Grigoryan greeting the participants of the event organized by NABU and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Republic of Germany noted: “Environmental protection sphere is in the center of every country and public. Everyone must treat the planet earth with utmost care and attention. Environmental security policy and partnership have an essential role in this sector. Since 2000 the RA Ministry of Nature Protection efficiently cooperates with the Federal Republic of Germany and is involved in “Caucasus initiative” program. The Ministry is involved in the projects and initiatives of Germany in the region. With the support of the latter there have been implemented and are in the process a number of environmental programs. On behalf of the Republic of Armenia I would like to express my gratitude to Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (NABU), German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and KfW Development Bank.
