RA Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan received Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran


RA Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan received the delegation headed by Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hamid Chitchian.

Thanking for the reception, Minister Chitchian appreciated the collaboration of the two countries and the will to cooperate in environmental sphere.

At the meeting the parties reflected upon the pollution of the River Arax. A joint group of Armenian-Iranian monitors observed water cycling system at Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine, considered the works carried out there and the future activities which will decrease the negative effect upon the river.

Minister Aramayis Grigoryan thanking for the visit and signifying the attention towards environmental issues assured that the problem will surely be solved until the end of 2016: “The head of the combine promised to solve the problem until the end of 2016, however, I should say that the river flows from Nakhijevan already somehow polluted, which requires clarifications as well and further steps to be undertaken”.

The parties attached great significance to the joint monitoring issues and a number of environmental issues of bilateral interest.

At the end of the meeting Hamid Chitchian congratulated Aramayis Grigoryan and Armenians all over the world on the coming New Year wishing sustainability, prosperity and more and more success.
