Sustainable Land Management for Increased Productivity in Armenia IFAD-GEF program directed to combating land degradation and their restoration was approved

Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan received IFADdelegation headed by Regional DirectorKhalida Bouzar.

Minister Aramayis Grigoryan greeting the guests and appreciating their willingness and belief in implemented programs in Armenia, particularly within the scope of Sustainable Land Management for Increased Productivity in Armenia IFAD-GEF program, hoped that the close collaboration would result in the desired outputs fostering the efforts combating climate change and tangible improvements in environmental and agricultural sectors.  

Mrs Bouzar highlighting the GoA policy directed to the solution of environmental problems, risk reduction and community development hoped that the current projects would foster farming, infrastructure improvement in agricultural sphere and risk reduction of land degradation as well as restoration of territories and crop rotation. The latter emphasized the unprecedented active cooperation between Ministries of Nature Protection and Agriculture and expressed hope that this experience could be a model for other countries as well.

At the end of the meeting the parties discussed the further perspectives of cooperation.
