The fifth session on interdepartmental coordination council implementing the thesis and perspectives adopted during the 21st session of Paris Conference of the Parties (COP) of UNFCCC took place on March 4, 2016
The session was held under the chairmanship of RA Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan. Greeting the guests and signifying the RA participation in joint efforts addressing the climate change, the Minister stated: “Considering the thesis of Paris agreement reached on the bases of the adopted decrees in Paris (December, 2015), today we will discuss the position of Armenia and the future tasks under the conference and activities directed to the ratification.
The session in extended format was conditioned by the activities the accomplishment of which requires collaboration with international organizations, communities, and public and privet sector”.
The following issues in the context of reducing climate change challenges were in the agenda:
1. INDC under the decrees of the21st Conference of the Parties.
2. The main outputs and the significance of the national system of MRV of the two year long progress report of Armenia under the Convention.
3. The research outputs of energy consumption within 2417 households.

Earlier, an agreement over climate change was signed at the Conference in Paris (December, 2015). All the parties agreed to join efforts to combat climate change challenges so that global warming would not exceed 2 o, meanwhile striving for 1.5 o. Before the Conference, the countries have submitted INDC which would result in how real is 2 or 1.5 o. Armenia alongside other countries submitted its position over the envisaged undertakings concerning restraining greenhouse gas emissions.

Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body was defined as a subordinate body to the Government by the RA law on “State administration system bodies” adopted on March 23, 2018, thus citizens may send their calls and applications to the Head of the Inspection Body (Address: Koryun 1, 3750009 Yerevan, tel.
