Information over specially protected areas in Armenia was presented at internationally distinguished IBT travel exhibition


The Republic of Armenia participates in annual IBT Berlin: the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show (March 9-13).

The representatives of the RA MNP Ecotourism Development Department, Dilijan National Park and Environmental NGOs with the support of WWF Armenia presented information regarding SPAs in Armenia within the scope of TJS Phase III.

IBT Show is one of the most popular international exhibitions where international touristic agencies and public are informed about new touristic routes and proposals. People were interested in Armenian pavilion installed at ecotouristic and adventurous travelling department.

Sahak Mouradyan, Dilijan National Park director says: “Armenian rich biodiversity and specially protected areas are an appealing attraction for the lovers of adventurous travelling and wildlife fans. Our objective was to illustrate the beauty of protected areas and we are sure we succeeded. Similar exhibitions enable the world to be aware of our unique fauna and flora, landscape diversity”.

Hermine Hakobyan, WWF Armenia representative emphasizing the importance of ecotourism development stated that WWF supports participation of South Caucasus countries in similar events for economic growth and progress of SPAs as well as adjacent areas. Additionally it will increase the quantity of tourists in these countries.
