Minister Artsvik Minasyan partook in the workshop on “Reflection of the Thesis of Aarhus Convention upon National Legislation”


On December 2, RA Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan participated in the workshop on ''Reflectionof the Thesis of Aarhus Convention on National Legislation, Access to Justice in Environmental Matters''. The event was organized by the RA Ministry of Nature Protection alongside OSCE Office in Yerevan with ''Economic Analysis Center'' NGO.  
Welcoming the workshop attendees, RA Minister of Nature Protection set great store on complying national legislation with the thesis of international environmental convention in his remarks; the latter will considerably promote complete and constructive legal regulation directed to nature protection.
Since 2001, joining UNECE Aarhus Convention, Armenia has undertaken steps to implement the responsibilities undertaken by the Republic of Armenia. For instance, the Minister attached value to the works realized by 15 Aarhus Public Environmental Information Centers.  
Artsvik Minasyan stated:'' Aarhus centers established a new model of partnership and understanding, which enables state regional bodies as well as Environmental NGOs to jointly address environmental challenges thus finding due solutions''.
In his speech Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Agro Avakov focused on enhancing the alliance of the state and civil society while tackling environmental problems.
Additionally, Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan and Professor Gevorg Danielyan welcomed forum partakers and delivered speeches.
At the meeting  sector specialists presented the implementation process of Aarhus Convention, speeches were made related to the reflection and assurance of convention thesis in the context of new constitutional arrangements of the RA. Furthermore, issues were considered over evaluation mechanisms over environmental impact.
