While supervising inspections in “Shikahogh” state reserve, 5 European roe deer were detected


Well established actions combating cases of norm violations on cutting trees and poaching in “Dilijan” national park of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection are in progress.

Due to the twenty-four-hour duty inspections accomplished by the workers, 2 cases on deforestation /illegal cutting of 8 trees/ were detected and composed thus sending the above mentioned reports on infractions of norms on forests to Tavoush regional office of the Nature Protection Inspectorate of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection Staff where the damage caused to the nature as a result of illegal tree cutting will be calculated.

The employees of the preservation unit composed a fire prevention program with the objective of strengthening the control over the territories of “Dilijan” national park and organizing fire prevention activities more effectively; the aforementioned project was submitted to Tavoush Regional Administration.

Relevant materials were delivered to Dilijan and Tavoush regional newspapers to ensure awareness raising while engaging in illegal hunting, tree cutting, animal gazing, illegal constructions, land seizures, fires.

During the week ''Dilijan” national park SNCO provided the residents of nearby communities with 30m3 firewood: trees damaged by the wind and storm.

As a consequence of inspections realized in the protected areas of “Zangezur” Biosphere Complex within the last week, cases of the law breach were not recorded.

Visits were paid to “Shikahogh” state reserve of “Zangezur” Biosphere Complex, in the course of which 5 European roe deer, 4 weasels, 3 stone martens, a wild cat and 14 jackals were revealed.

Premature return of common starling among migratory species was observed.

Strict conservation measures are persevere in more specially protected areas of nature of the RA MNP.
