The next session of the Scientific-Technical Council under the RA Minister of Nature Protection headed by RA Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan took place. Zhirayr Vardanyan, Director of Institute of Botany of the RA National Academy of Sciences, delivered a report on the issues related to developing perspectives of biodiversity and eco-educational centre in Yerevan Botanic Garden. The speaker remarkably illustrated the effectiveness of the botanic garden as a scientific, eco-educational institution of a unique national value, thus referred to more vital issues, including irrigation system upgrading, the essential of creating comfortable zone for recreation planning for wide layers of the population.
Director of Ecological Noosphere Studies Centre of RA National Academy of Sciences A. Saghatelyan outlined environmental and technical risk assessment while exploiting Amulsar gold mine. Deputy Director of “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” State Institution of the RA MNP, Doctor of Biological Sciences Samvel Baloyan presented the concept for “Research outputs for environmental policymaking”. Furthermore, they returned to the international obligations abided by the Republic of Armenia over scientific researches in nature protection sector, the need of scientific studies, personnel problems. Afterwards, there was decided to consider the concerns raised in the reports thoroughly at an upcoming session.
