There was not detected a case on a firebreak in “Arevik” national park

Electronic media circulated the news about the firebreak in the forest area of “Arevik” national park, RA Syunik Region.

“Zangezur” Biosphere Complex SNCO of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection informs, that there has not been detected a firebreak in “Arevik” national park. On April 5, 2017, a fire broke out in the orchards of Meghri community adjacent to the national park, whereas the employees of “Zangezur” Biosphere Complex SNCO in collaboration with the firemen of Regional Emergency Service Unit managed to isolate and extinguish fire. Though the fire centre was near the borders of “Arevik” national park, it did not cause damage to flora and fauna of the park.
