Productive practice of activities achieved by Armenia towards Green Climate Fund were submitted to the officers of the Government of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan

On the initiative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, a workshop was held at the RA Ministry of Nature Protection in order to get familiar with successful experience of the works accomplished by Armenia for Green Climate Fund.

The meeting was attended by the officials of the RA MNP led by RA First Deputy Minister of Nature Protection S. Papyan and officers of the Government of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan headed by S. Umetaliev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as well as A. Martirosyan, UNDP in Armenia Sustainable Growth and Resilience Portfolio Manager.

Simon Papyan emphasized in his speech effective cooperation of representatives of two states regarding nature protection priorities in international platforms. First Deputy Minister presented the principal mechanisms of ongoing works over climate change and cooperation essentials of executives.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Umetaliev, thanking for the meeting, stated, that they care about constructive experience of the Republic of Armenia alongside Green Climate Fund.

A. Martirosyan noted with satisfaction, that the United Nations Development Program has become a platform for enhancing cooperation among relevant departments of the countries on climate finance issues.

UNFCCC National Focal Point A. Gabrielyan gave a speech on “Key development courses of Armenia for climate change policy and financial appliances”, thus Deputy Director of “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” State Institution S. Baloyan delivered information about the partnership of Armenia with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Adaptation Fund (AF) and Green Climate Fund (GCF).

The speeches were followed by the consultations over workable ways of bilateral cooperation and other issues.
