Due to the instruction of RA Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan, the works on streamlining tree pruning through normative legal acts started at the ministry.

Khachik Hakobyan, emphasizing a tree pruning issue in communities that is regularly discussed by the public, suggested to revise GoA N1318-N decree (2008) on “Defining the requirements over the sizes and composition of green zones in settlements”, thus regulate the criteria and essentials for pruning and care with separate Annex, followed by each tree characteristics.

During the vocational discussion there was offered to take into consideration trees by location, climate characteristics specific to different communities of the republic, while developing the document.

RA Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Khachik Hakobyan also prioritized the policing of tree species composition adapting to climatic peculiarities of separate communities in accordance with the drafting legal document; the latter will be a guiding principle in the course of regular tree plantings, as there are cases, when trees are planted in a community, which are not able to adapt to area conditions making performed works inefficient.

As a result of an absorbing discussion, several vocational propositions were delivered; it was decided to present written proposals in order to set up principles of normative legal acts. The Deputy Minister instructed to develop the document within a short period of time, by 2017 autumn pruning.
