The Minister of Nature Protection participated in the second Eastern Partnership (EaP) formal ministerial meeting on environment and climate change

The RA Minister of Nature Protection-led delegation participated in the second Eastern Partnership (EaP) formal ministerial meeting on environment and climate change took place in Luxembourg.
In his speech, Minister of Nature Protection E. Grigoryan went over issues referring to climate change, waste management, biodiversity conservation and climate funding.
The Minister made a direct proposal for the cooperation between the EU and the Eastern Partnership (EaP) states environmental government authorities .
The Minister had bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Environmental Protection of a number of the EU member states, Representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Monica Scatasta, and took note of further steps aimed at deepening the cooperation. During the working consultation with Hans Bruyninckx, the Executive Director of the European Environment Agency, it was adopted a joint decree to assume measures to provide free access to the EU's Copernicus database for Armenia.
Copernicus data access builds on a constellation of satellites making millions of daily observations, as well as on a global network of thousands of land-, air- and marine-based sensors to create the most detailed pictures of Earth (http://copernicus.eu/data-access).
On the margins of the visit, there were meetings along with Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Karmenu Vella and Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete. In his concluding remarks, Miguel Arias Cañete highly appreciated the activities accomplished by Armenia.
