On December 18, the solemn opening ceremony of fully renovated Children and Youth Creative Center N3 took place in Yerevan.
Acting Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan, Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin participated in the event.
The project cost of approximately 400 million AMD was implemented through funds of Yerevan Municipality (87.5% of investments) and grants allocated by the Green Climate Fund.
More than 800 pupils attending Centre’s 34 sports and art groups, presently study in renovated, safe, inclusive, warm and bright rooms and gym halls.
Acting Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan, congratulating the Center's pupils and teachers on the opening of a renovated center, expressed conviction that similar centers renovated with energy efficiency components will also be opened in other administrative districts of the capital, other settlements of the republic, due to the efficacious cooperation between the Ministry, Yerevan Municipality and the UNDP; thus more children will have the opportunity to study in such good conditions.
Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan stated in his speech that the Municipality will create similar opportunities in the future in a bid to foster healthy lifestyle and artistic taste of the younger generation.
UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp noted in his speech that the project is an outcome of the efficient cooperation between Yerevan Municipality, the Ministry of Nature Protection and the United Nations Development Programme.
