Today, Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan and General Manager of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia Christoph Speck signed a memorandum of understanding. The cooperation envisaged by the memorandum is focused on conservation and restoration of the environment, sustainable management of wastes and water resources.
Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan emphasized in his speech that the Ministry has already had effacious cooperation experience in water resource management sector, thereby the memorandum embarks on a new, more comprehensive phase of cooperation. The Minister expressed hope that this example of the partnership would act as a cooperation stimulus for a larger number of private companies and business circles for tackling environmental issues together with the state.
General Manager of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia Christoph Speck noted with satisfaction that the signed memorandum comprehends their measures directed to combating environmental issues, wastes, including the regions of Armenia; besides, advised that they cope with similiar environmental bottlnecks in their own, recycling 98% of the company's internal wastes.
Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia provided 25 containers envisaged for plastic bottles in the frames of sustainable waste management. On the same day, 5 containers were installed in Khachkar Park, and 20 ones will be installed in the city of Talin over the coming days, backing “Green Talin'' project, undertaken by the Ministry of Nature Protection. Also, the company will accomplish transportation and recycling of plastics collected in those containers.
