Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan participated in the high level meeting on "Highlighting the role of forests in the context of climate change" within the framework of the UN Climate Change Conference COP 25; in attendance were Ministers of Environment and Agriculture of Spain, Chile, Ecuador, Pakistan, Ethiopia. Minister Erik Grigoryan presented the fundamentals of the forest policy implemented in Armenia, remarkably noting that there is a guided struggle against illegal cutting of trees in our country, which has already achieved visible results in the recent period. Also, highlighting the role of biodiversity of Armenia in global ecosystems, Minister Grigoryan emphasized the importance of unique "Khosrov Forest" state reserve, adding that its biodiversity is unique and the latter is under special supervision. The Minister illustrated that the reserve includes species of animals and plants that have been preserved only in our region. Minister Grigoryan presented large-scale activities accomplished towards reforestation in the light of the Paris Agreement to the audience as well.
