After a 50-year break, the leopard returned to Tavoush region

The cameras captured a leopard in the area of Yenoqavan village of Tavush region.
Earlier, on November 19, 2019, the news was disseminated that a leopard had attacked one of the residents of Yenoqavan. The lab testing of the animal's hair taken as a sample from the clothes of a villager denied he had been attacked by a leopard. The test was conducted in Germany and was expected to show  99% accuracy. Besides, no leopard was found as a result of field research.
Thus, we can state that the leopard returned to Tavoush region after a 50-year break. The animal was last seen in the area in 1970s. Tavoush has become the fourth region in Armenia where the leopard lives.
