The activities addressed to increase the adaptation of degraded arable lands, pastures and grasslands are in progress

In the frames of “Artik city closed stone pit wastes and flood management” pilot project, implemented in the context of increasing the adaptation of degraded arable lands, pastures and grasslands to climate change, “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit" SI supervised activities directed to increasing the adaptation of degraded arable lands, pastures and grasslands in the period of 2019-2020, envisaged by the project.
According to the requirements of the project:
1. In a bid to increase the adaptation of degraded arable lands,
a) in  autumn the areas were fertilized with organic, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, including:
  b) in  spring  the same areas were fed with nitrogen fertilizers,
2. In an effort to increase the adaptation of degraded pastures and grasslands,
a) in early spring the areas were fertilized with organic, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.
b) Parallel to fertilization, perennial herb sowing was performed in the same areas.
Arable land reclamation activities were effected in Artik, Vardakar, Harich and Nahapetavan communities, and pasture and grassland reclamation activities were conducted in Vardakar, Harich and Nahapetavan communities.
The project fulfillment areas include 300 hectares of arable land, 190 hectares of pasture and 15 hectares of grassland.
