The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Environment, with the support of the World Bank, continues the second (consultative meetings) phase aimed at developing “National Framework for Climate Services” (NFCS).

The first thematic-cluster online meeting on "Water (Hydrology and Water Resources)" was held on 24 June 2020. It had brought together leading specialists in the field and representatives of state, scientific, private and public companies. It has already been published on the website of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO (the link: https://bit.ly/38hb3Og ).

The thematic-cluster online meetings on "Disaster Management, Risk Reduction" and "Agro (Agriculture and Food Security)" continued sequentially on 26 and 30 June 2020. As at the first meeting, 40-60 participants participated in these two meetings, according to the target sector and stakeholders.

Levon Azizyan, the Acting Director of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO, welcomed all the participants of the meetings by emphasizing the significance of thematic meetings and wishing the participants effective discussions and uninterrupted work. Nickolai Denisov, the Representative of the Zoï Environment Network, and Lusine Taslakyan, the Expert of the Zoï Environment Network, and Nora Mirzoyan, the Representative of the World Bank, and Gagik Surenyan, the Deputy Director of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Environment, made reports during the meetings. Valentina Grigoryan, the Adviser to the Acting Director of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Environment, conducted the meetings.

The reports were followed by discussions. During those discussions the participants touched upon the issues, gaps and needs related to the meetings, presented possible ways and options to improve the quality of services provided, suggested closer cooperation and so on.

One more thematic-cluster online meeting is expected to be held on 13 July 2020. This time the theme of the meeting will be different and will include the following fields: Healthcare, Tourism, Energy, Transport, Construction, etc.
