The third group of Red Deer has arrived in Armenia from the Islamic Republic of Iran

Recently, the third group of the Red Deer has arrived in Armenia from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Breeding Center of the Red Deer of “Dilijan” NP will be the habitat for animals.
“Reintroduction of the Red Deer in Armenia” project  was undertaken by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia and World Wide Fund for Nature Armenian Branch (WWF Armenia) in 2013. Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), too, had an active participation in the project fulfillment.
Today, the Red Deer are recorded in the Red Book of Armenia as “critically endangered” in accordance with the standards of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
