There took place the ceremony of handing graduation certificates to HMC SNCO staff participated in ''Fueling Green Growth: Advanced Course for Climate Policy Makers and Project Managers’’ held from August 18 to September 9, 2020, at “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia. The course was organized by the Department of Continuing Education of the American University of Armenia.
In the course of the training, participants were introduced to the phases of project management, the principles of cooperation with key climate funds and other donor organizations - the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Adaptation Fund (AF), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Paris Agreement (focusing on Article 6), policy the Green Climate Fund’s (GCF) tools, approval process for programs, etc.
The partakers, too, gained practical skills in preparing competitive bidding (adapting the priorities of donor and country) and key steps (identification, consultancy and negotiation).
In his remarks, Acting Director of HMC SNCO Levon Azizyan laid emphasis on any initiative directed to capacity-building of workers, expressing hope that the cooperation will be continued, as the guarantee for the development and modernization of the system is to have a team of intelligent professionals.
