Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center (HMC) of the Ministry of Environment informs


The main source of air pollution is vehicles, which comprises 66.5% of emissions of hazardous substances into atmosphere.
The quantity of transport emissions is growing year by year in Armenia. Compared to 2015, in 2019 the quantity of transport emissions increased by over 20%.
The 73.0% of transport emissions of hazardous substances into atmosphere fell to share carbon oxide (carbon dioxide), 16.6% to volatile organic compounds, 10.0% to nitrogen oxides and 0.4% to other substances.
The higher road network density and the number of cars, the higher the volume of carbon monoxide emissions.
