Today, Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan held farewell meeting with Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin

Deputy UNDP Resident Representative Michaela Stojkoska, UNDP Climate Change Program Coordinator Diana Harutyunyan, and UNDP Climate, Environment, Resilience Programme Analyst (Team Leader) Hovhannes Ghazaryan were in UNDP Resident Representative Dmitry Mariyasin-led delegation. 
Welcoming the partners, Minister Petrosyan first thanked Dmitry Mariasin for his mission in the Republic of Armenia. The Minister highly appreciated Mr. Mariyasin’s individual effort in the success of the projects implemented in the sphere of environment in Armenia, expressed hope that the cooperation with his successor will continue from the already set high benchmark, and in  colloboration will effectively advance all the launched programs. The Minister is also hopeful that Mr. Mariyasin’s love for Armenia at his new post will also be a stimulus for wider and large-scale cooperation with our country.
In turn, Dmitry Mariyasin extended a vote of thanks to the Armenian partners for the mutually beneficial cooperation, due to which, especially after 2018, they succeeded in fulfilling numerous  reforms. He promised to do his utmost to maintain "green agenda" in all spheres of the Republic of Armenia - environmental, social, economic.
UNDP in Armenia and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia have jointly implemented a great deal of programs that have contributed to the fulfillment of Armenia's commitments under environmental conventions, as well as to the improvement of national legislation and governance system. A number of pilot projects have also been implemented.
At present, 9 programs are implemented by UNDP under the coordination of the Ministry.
The sides next discussed the implemented and ongoing programs, summarized the outcomes, pointed out the achievements and shortcomings, in the direction of which there is a demand for more coordinated work. 
Minister Petrosyan assured that with the individual intercession of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, he will promote the UNDP-adopted "green" sustainable principles in the communities of Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Romanos Petrosyan presented a silver commemorative coin of "Caucasian Leopard" to Mr. Mariasin as a token of gratitude for his work.
