The Master Agreement was signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Green Climate Fund
The Bilateral, Master Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) was signed by Acting Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan and Javier Manzanares, Executive Director ad interim of the Green Climate Fund Secretariat.
The consistent measures addressed to capacity building of SPAs are in progress
The Ministry of Nature Protection performs consistent measures to bolster capacities of specially protected areas of nature (SPAs).
All the families, schools and the only kindergarten of three villages in the vicinity of “Shikahogh” state reserve were provided with firewood
In the frames of “Support Program for Protected Areas-Armenia” (SPPA-A) project implemented under the Ministry of Nature Protection, at the beginning of December, "Kapan Forestry" branch of "ArmForest" SNCO completed works of providing firewood to permanent residents of Shikahogh, Srashen, Nerkin Hand villages, by allocating 8m³ wood per family.
On December 11, the Master Agreement will be signed between Green Climate Fund and Armenia
The Republic of Armenia and the Green Climate Fund will sign the Master Agreement within the framework of the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 24) to the UNFCCC.
Free fuel briquettes are provided to Meghri community settlements
To reduce the pressure of adjacent communities on forest areas of “Areviq” national park, in the frames of “Support Program for Protected Areas-Armenia” (SPPA-A) project, the Ministry of Nature Protection implements a project: providing of alternative fuels to two mountainous settlements of Meghri community.
There were provided grants to residents of Haghartsin and Teghut villages within the framework of environmental projects
The Ministry of Nature Protection in collaboration with the UNDP/GEF and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) executed a small grant project of around 70 million AMD in Haghartsin and Teghut communities of Tavush region, about which RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had announced earlier.
