Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan received  U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Lynne Tracy

Today, Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan, Head of the Public Affairs Section at U.S. Embassy in Armenia Matthew Petit.

ENTRY IS FREE; SPAs RESUME THEIR WORK

Dear citizens, taking into consideration the end of state of emergency, guided by the RA law on “Specially Protected Areas of Nature” and the legislation of SPAs, the procedure of organizing and issuing permits for the entry into specially protected areas of nature are resumed.
Entry into the reserve zone or sanctuary area is permitted only with the relevant worker of the organization.

Water use permits of 17 SHPPs of Yeghegis River will be revised

Taking into consideration the catastrophic environmental situation in the gorge of Yeghegis River and unallowable water scarcity in the river, by the instruction of the Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan, an interdepartmental working group will be set up - within a short time period - in a bid to address the problems in small hydroelectric power plants over Yeghegis River.

Manifest caring and responsible behavior towards nature and the environment

Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan and the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry receive at least a few dozens of letters from citizens every day, in which cases of pollution of specially protected areas of nature, forested areas and other natural areas, damage caused to plant species in natural monuments with attached photos are illustrated.
