Round-the-clock strict supervision has been defined over all forest roads adjunct Lake Sevan

The officers of Gegharkunik Regional Department of the Police have defined round-the-clock strict control over all forest roads adjunct Lake Sevan, and checkpoints have been set up. Also, inspections are supervised in the markets and roads of Yerevan to prevent the sale of whitefish of Lake Sevan.

Reinforced control measures will be implemented

Within December 25, 2020, and January 20, 2021, fortified control measures will be implemented at Lake Sevan, and throughout Armenia.

Confiscated and destroyed

Due to the period of natural reproduction of whitefish, within the framework of reinforcing the prohibition over the end of the industrial fishing season at Lake Sevan, the special guard unit of "Sevan" national park has already taken the process of withdrawing and destroying  fishers’ illegal fishing nets  since December 25, 2020.

A series of remote learning trainings for protected areas of nature

From December 7 to 23, 2020, a series of remote learning trainings were held for protected areas within the framework of  ecotourism  and  sustainable tourism development of the Transboundary Joint Secretariat (TJS) program, World Wide Fund for Nature Armenian branch (WWF-Armenia).
