The preparatory works on Armenia’s 6th National Biodiversity Report are in the final phase
The Ministry of Nature Protection completes the preparatory works of the 6th National Biodiversity Report. Being among the world’s 25 countries having richest biodiversity and one of the 2 hotspots in Europe, Armenia implements a policy targeted at preserving it.
There took place a workshop dedicated to the ozone layer protection; US$ 154,000 thousand in grants was allocotated to Armenia
At the initiative of the Ministry of Nature Protection-implemented Ozone project, a workshop over recapping the results of the activities accomplished by Armenia in 2018 in the direction of protecting the ozone layer took place. The representatives of concerned state bodies, partner state and private organizations, sectorial scientists partook in the workshop.
Discussed the prospects for cooperation with the Green Climate Fund
On December 19 there took place the consultative workshop in Armenia Marriott Hotel organized by “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” State Institution, in the course of which issues over the functions of the Green Climate Fund, inclusive of the prospects for cooperation with the Fund were considered.
The enhanced activities will be implemented at Lake Sevan and throughout Armenia within December 20-January 20, 2019
In a bid to ensure natural reproduction of ishkhan and sig fish at Lake Sevan, any kind of swimming means has been prohibited at Lake Sevan, and enhanced supervision has been arranged throughout Armenia.

The delegation led by Acting Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan participated in the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 24) to the UNFCCC took place in Katowice, Poland; in attendance were more than 30,000 delegates from 200 countries.The participating states signed three declarations on CO2 emission reduction, increasing forest areas and promoting the large-scale development of electric vehicles.
Fully renovated Children and Youth Creative Center N3 was opened
On December 18, the solemn opening ceremony of fully renovated Children and Youth Creative Center N3 took place in Yerevan.
Acting Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan, Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin participated in the event.
"Green Urban Lighting" project has been implemented
