Attention!
On January 19 and at night and in the morning of January 19-20 snow is expected in the whole territory of the republic, intense in separate places, drizzle, low horizontal visibility, black ice on the roads is expected in the mountainous regions. On January 19-22 the air temperature will gradually go down by 17-20 degrees.

 In the Republic
In the daytime of January 18-20 in most regions, on 21 in southern regions, on 18 in mountainous areas and in foothills precipitation is predicted, and on 19 in all regions in the form of snow. On January 22-23 no precipitation is predicted.  North-east wind speed is 5-8 m/s, in separate places the wind intensification speed is 18-23 m/s. On January 19-22 the air temperature will gradually go down by 17-20 degrees.
 In Yerevan
In the daytime of January 18-19, on 20 from time to time precipitation is predicted, on 19 in the form of snow. On January 21-23  no  precipitation is predicted. On January 19-21 black ice on the roads is expected.

Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan started the working week, conducting  a visit to “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” of the Ministry of Environment. The Minister introduced the new Acting Director of “Environmental Project Implementation Unit”  Mikael Khachatryan to the staff, and held a consultation with the staff on the upcoming activities and the directions of the office's activities in 2021.

In the Republic
In the daytime of January 15, on 18-19,  at night of 20 in most regions, in the daytime of 20 in separate regions precipitation is predicted; in mountainous regions precipitation will be in the form of snow, in foothills and valleys it will be in the form of wet snow and sleet. On January 17 no precipitation is predicted. South wind speed is 5-8 m/s, in separate regions the wind speed may exceed up to 18-23 m/s. The air temperature will not change considerably.
 In Yerevan
In the daytime of January 15, on 16, on 18-19, on 20 from time to time precipitation is predicted. On January 17, in the daytime of 20 no precipitation is predicted.

There is a problem of increasing the efficiency of water resources  management

Prior to the launch of the new working year, Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan outlined the working directions that require utmost attention to the environment in 2021, including the issue of efficient changes in the water sector. 

Clarification

In response to the post (January 12, 2021) of "Environmentalist’s House" initiative on the Facebook social network over tree felling in the area from Lermontovo village to Vanadzor, we inform that sanitary logging place has been operated since October 8, 2020, on the basis of 01728 deforestation ticket. In spring of 2020, due to heavy snow and strong winds in 2 and 3, 4, 12, 20, 140 forest areas, more than 314 common pine trees were snow-covered, and some of them were wind-whipped (photos attached).

Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan and Deputy Minister coordinating the sphere Tigran Simonyan conducted a working visit to “Environmental Impact Expertise Center” SNCO

 The Minister held a meeting-consultation with the staff of the SNCO regarding the draft law on the amendment to the RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise , the status of the EIA Institute and the further course of activities. The establishment of the EIA Institute is one of the top three primary and most  pivotal issues of the Ministry of Environment, which must be addressed in 2021.

In the daytime of January 14 and on 15 the air temperature will gradually go up by 3-5 degrees in Ararat valley and in its foothills.
 In Yerevan
In the evening hours of January 14, on 15, on 18-19 from time to time precipitation is predicted. On January 16-17 no precipitation is predicted.
