A meeting invitation to representatives of NGOs, targeted at considering the steps towards refusing single-use plastic
On the initiative of the Ministry of Nature Protection, the ban on single-use plastic was initiated in Armenia.
The Ministry of Nature Protection invites representatives of non-governmental organizations engaged in the sphere of environmental protection to discuss the issues over prohibiting single-use plastic within the scopes of the launched events.
For the first time, mammal hunting was not allowed in Armenia during the hunting period except for wolves and jackals
On the bases of the propositions of N2459-152 note presented by Director of Zoology and Hydro Ecology Scientific Center of the RA National Academy of Sciences (July 20, 2018) Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan signed an order defining hunting amounts and periods envisaged for 2018-2019. For the first time, the order prohibits mammal hunting during the hunting period except for wolves and jackals.
There will be trainings over organizing public awareness-raising campaigns on environmental issues for the Mass Media and NGOs
On August 7-10 a four-day lesson about environmental communication will be organized for the mass media and environmental NGOs within UNDP/GEF "Generate global environmental benefits through environmental education and raising awareness of stakeholders" projects scopes.

The residents released the griffon vulture with an injury back to wild nature after the corresponding aid
The residents of Alaverdi have recently detected a griffon vulture with an injury (Gyps fulvus).
The griffon vulture is registered in the Red Book of Armenia as endangered (VU D1), as well as in Appendix II of CITES and Appendix II of Bern Convention.
