The Ministry of Environment is preparing for the nationwide tree planting; it is envisaged to plant about 300.000 saplings on April 25 within the framework of "10 million trees" initiative

Ahead of the nationwide tree planting envisaged on April 25, Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan held a working meeting-discussion, which was attended by Artur Petrosyan, Acting Chairman of the Committee of Forest of the Ministry of Environment, Pavel Tsugunyan, Acting Director of “ArmForest” SNCO, Advisers to the Minister.

In the daytime of April 13, in the morning and at night of 14, in the daytime of 18  in most regions, mainly after the daytime of 16-17 in separate regions rain with thunderstorm is predicted, during the thunderstorm the wind speed may exceed up to 15-20 m/s.  On April 15 no precipitation is predicted. South-west wind speed is 5-10 m/s. On April 14-18 the air temperature will gradually go up by 7-9 degrees.
In Yerevan
In the daytime of April 13, in the morning and at night of 14, in the evening of 18 rain with thunderstorm is predicted. In the daytime of April 14, on  15-17, at night of 18 no precipitation is predicted.

Planted the first 1000 trees of  2021 "10 million trees" initiative 

Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan was in Aragatsotn region, where the tree planting of 2021 "10 million trees" pan-Armenian initiative was officially launched.
 

By the draft decree of the government, the list of rivers prohibited for the construction of small hydropower plants was defined

"The rejection of applications for water use permits for newly constructed small hydropower plants envisaged on defining the list of rivers which are registered in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia or are typical of endemic fish spawning habitats or 40% and more overloaded with diversion pipes”; by the draft decree of the government, the list of rivers prohibited for the construction of small hydropower plants was defined.

In the frames of the upcoming nationwide tree planting, local cleanup days and cleaning activities  are also envisaged  along the shores of Lake Sevan.
 

Online training

On April 16, an online training (within the Zoom platform) will be organized by the staff of the Visitor Center of "Sevan" national park SNCO on the initiative of the Ministry of Environment.
The training is envisaged for people over 12 years old.

Made amendments  and supplements to the procedure of leasing and (or) granting  land use right  of specially protected areas of nature 

In a bid to balance the environmental, socio-economic components, to achieve the vision of sustainable management and dynamic development of SPAs,   to streamline the procedure of leasing and granting land construction  right  of specially protected areas of nature, amendments  and supplements were made to the N1578-N decree on “Approving the order of the interdepartmental tender commission set up for leasing and (or) granting land use right  of specially protected areas of nature ".
