Industry and Energy
Industry
Annual reports of the National Statistical Service provide information on the environment, natural resources of Armenia, and give one an idea about the extent of harmful emissions.
The annual emission from stationary sources and motor transport amounts to ~ 20% and ~80%, respectively. Recession in the production, which took place in all branches of industry since the 1990-ies, has sharply reduced the share of industry-related emissions.
It should be noted, that all major air-polluting entities ? the industry, motor transport, power generation industry and public services ? are at an extremely low level of environmental control, not providing proper sewage treatment, air purification and wastes management.

Energy
The Yerevan thermal power plant was founded in 1963. Its maximum capacity is 550,000 kilowatts. It is designed for supplying power to the southern industrial district of Yerevan.
