Today is World Water Day

Every year on March 22, World Water Day  is celebrated. The idea to mark it was voiced at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (Earth Summit), took place in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, writes Calend.
The main objectives of World Water Day are:
To focus the public's attention on the state and problems of water objects related to their restoration and protection,
To contribute to the adoption of relevant measures to address the problem of drinking water supply to the population,
To raise the awarness of the society about the importance of protection and conservation of freshwater and in general - water resources.
According to some expert estimates, the world population will reach 9 billion in 2050, of which 4 billion will face severe water scarcity. Therefore, water will become the most valuable resource in the world.
